Murray is a graduate of the University of Queensland.
After moving back to St Lucia with his wife and family in early 2000 he was invited to join this general practice as a partner. Prior to this he had worked in Queensland Hospitals including time as a registrar in Psychiatry. His previous general practice experience was as a partner in the Bray Park Medical Practice in Strathpine where he had worked for nearly fifteen years.
This was a practice with a very large paediatric base and here he developed skills in counselling.
In this practice he has continued to deal with all aspects of primary care with areas of special interest including mental health issues (all ages from childhood and adolescence onwards) and preventative health care particularly cardiovascular health.
He is interested in the continuing development of this practice as a ‘Medical Home’ where every person and their family can partner with their doctor of choice with further care provided by the practice team that they may need to better manage their health.
Murray has three children all of whom attended Ironside school. He maintains a strong interest in the broader St Lucia community as well as being involved in the provision of ongoing general practice education. He enjoys tennis and cycling as well as active travel.
